I love these vegan sausage patties! I dont usually make copycat recipes like this, but after I tried the beyond breakfast sausage, I had to try! It wasn’t really that hard at all. I literally made this recipe three or four times and I got as close as you can to the real thing! You gotta see for yourself!

- 1 ½ tsp Fennel Seed
- 1 ½ tsp Coriander Seed
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 2 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Dried Thyme
- ½ tsp Cayenne Pepper
- ½ tsp Black Pepper

Cook Your Lentils Ahead of Time
Cook your lentils a day ahead of time to avoid the stress! This is a great way to plan ahead and be that much closer to making your patties! Its always good to cool your lentils down in their liquid to keep them as moist as possible.
Use a Cast Iron Skillet
Use a cast iron skillet to get that good sear! This caramelization will add a nice crunch to these vegan sausage patties and intensify the flavor!
Substitutions
A lot of these best vegan sausage patties ingredients are substitutable. The lentils can be switched out for other varieties of lentils. The flax seed and chia seed can be switched out for one another. The tamari can be traded for coconut aminos. The spices can be interchanged for whatever you like.
Although this recipe is easily changed, it doesn’t mean it should be. Just remember that if you are changing ingredients you are also changing flavor as well. Some of these ingredients also have another purpose in the recipe too. Be aware of what you are doing.

Food Processor
Using a food processor is the best way to efficiently make an even and well combined farce. Its important you use the right setting and blend in stages to get your texture right. You want to use the pulse function of your food processor.
Portioning
